Pumpkins for Cathey...

...ou en Français "Citrouilles pour Cathey" ...

Je suis aujourd'hui un des maillons de la 'chaine des citrouilles' visant à …tout d'abord souhaiter un joyeux anniversaire de blog à Cathey (plus connue sous le nom de Pumpkin dans la blogosphère) …mais aussi à lui apporter une vague internationale voire même mondiale d'ondes positives =)

Les détails vous pourrez éventuellement les trouver sur le blog de ma moitié ici =D

Mais en gros, sur une idée, ma fois très bonne, de Daffycat , le but est de poster chacun une citrouille réalisée par nos soins…alors voici la mienne !

Today , I'm a link in the 'Pumpkins chain' , organised by Daffycat in honour of Cathey for her blogversary (Happy blogversary =D) but also and mostly to send her positive thoughts in the fight she is having.

 Being 'hand in hand' all around the world can surely help and we are hoping today that it will bring a big banana smile on her face =) 

So here is my pumpkin for Cathey

Il s'agit donc d'une figurine Rackham représentant une petite citrouille tenant d'une main un flacon , dans lequel j'ai rajouté une fleur faite en fimo .
Le décors est fait en plâtre , miliput , et divers flocages . Le tout est peint à l'acrylique.
Voila une photo pour vous donner une idée de la taille de l'ensemble, la figurine mesure 14 mm des pieds jusqu'aux yeux .
Je l'ai intitulée "les fleurs du mal" en référence au poème de Charles Baudelaire.

It is a Rackham figure representing a small pumpkin holding a flask in which I added a flower made out of polymer clay. I entirely  made the set with cast (Miliput) and various flocking & foam. The whole scenery has been acrylic painted. 

Hereunder , thanks to the scale, you can see how tiny it is =) less than 2 cm from head to foot 

I entitled it 'Les Fleurs du Mal' (Flowers of Evil) in reference to Charles Baudelaire poem

Sorcier lumineux , ou mage maboule ...fini !

L'exercice est fini :
 Le décors est en place , et je considére la peinture terminée même si il y a toujours des choses à paufiner, il faut savoir dire "fin"  ! l'association des deux nous donne la scénette ci-dessous :
On peut remarquer l'abscence de titre , car je n'en ai pas trouvé un à mon gôut ! ...je suis ouvert à toute proposition :-)
Je retoucherai probablement les yeux qui ne sont pas assez marqués ...et ce sera tout !

Exercise is done:
I find the painting completed even if there are still things to refine, and the scenery has already been finalized .So the two elements together give us the result hereunder :
We can notice the absence of title because I have not found any suitable one ! ... I am opened to any proposal :-)
The eyes of the figure need to be retouched .. I will do it probably , but that 's all !

Art Toys ou rejeton de Cthulhu

Bienvenue dans l’univers du « Art Toy », bienvenue chez Cthulhu !!!

Ça fait déjà un moment que j’avais envie d’essayer, d’ailleurs j’en ai quelques un en stock qui attendent d’être customisés ! …mais je n’avais pas encore sauté le pas !

Et récemment ma moitié m’a ramené un petit « art Toy» sous forme de porte clef, représentant un mini poulpe humanoïde, ce fut l’occasion de tenter ma première customisation !

I have been wanting to try and customize "DIY Art Toy" for a while , furthemore I have some in stock waiting to be customized but ... I have not yet taken the leap!

And lately my Better Half  brought me a little key ring "art Toy"  , representing a mini humanoid octopus, it was an opportunity to try my first customization!

Rigolo non ? voila c'est un DIY (Do It Yourself) ...moi, il me fait penser à Cthulhu .. même si il n'a pas d'aile !
Première opération , dégraissage de la figurine , tentative de séparation de la tête du corps ...impossible , tant pis , j'enlève quand même l'anneau et sa chaîne .
Je sors mes feutres de couleurs acryliques et voila le peintre devant sa toile blanche ...
Bon en fait comme je veux faire une déco inspirée de l'art Aborigène du continent Australien ..je troque mon fond blanc par une sous-couche noire :

Funny isn't it ? This is a DIY (Do It Yourself) ...,it makes me think of Cthulhu .. even if his little wings are missing ! 
First, removal of grease marks, attempt to separate the head from the body...impossible mission ....anyway....removal of the chain & ring.
Let's take the acrylic felt pens (POSCA to not name them) and here is the painter in front of his white canvas :)
In fact black canvas as I wanted to make something insipred by the Australian aborigin art.

C'est mieux comme ça ! y'a plus qu'à mettre en couleur , point par point , c'est parti , stylo feutre en main !

Bienvenue pti cthulhu !! ...voila en deux séances de pointillisme . Certes je suis loin de l'art Aborigène , mais le résultat est "fun" , pour un premier test c'est assez encourageant  ;-)

Welcome Little Ctulhu !! Only 2 sessions of pointillism needed. Of course I'm far from real Aborigin art but I find the result funny and for a first try it's encouraging :)

WIP- Sorcier Lumineux en cours , la suite !

Voila , voila , ça vient !...enfin il est là , oui le sorcier :-)...ou quelque chose du genre !
Mais avant tout une petite image pour vous donner une idée de la taille du décors :

But first a little picture to give you an idea of ​​the size of the scenery :

Pour info , la pièce de 1euro fait environs 23 mm de diamètre .
C'est quasiment à l'échelle 1 sur mon écran de PC.

The 1 euro coin is about 23 mm in diameter. 
This is almost a scale of 1 on my PC screen.

                              
Bon ça c'est fait venons en au fait , la figurine !
Elle n'est pas terminée , le visage reste à traiter ainsi que les parties en cuir à finir .
L'OSL est aussi à peaufiner ... la fourure dans le dos ne ressort pas assez , sans parler des parties métalliques à peine traitées ...y'a encore un peu de travail  :-)

It's not finished yet :  face and leather parts are to be finished. The OSL needs to be refined ...also the fur on the back and the metal parts need to be enhanced .
There is still work to be done !   WIP !

Je ne suis pas très satisfait des photos ...mon éclairage est trop contrasté ...bref on perd un peu de modelé dans les lumières ...les jaunes sont tous écrasés , il n'y a plus de nuances ...
Comment ça c'est pas un sorcier ? un clodo en manteaux mité ?....
Ahhh j'oubliais , une petite dernière pour l’échelle ;-)

 I'm not very pleased with the pictures ... the light is excessively contrasted , result : shades are lost (yellow and orange)  :-(
 What ,  it's not a sorcerer!? ... a beggar with a moth eaten coat ! ? ........

Sorcier lumineux , petit projet récréatif !

Petit projet récréatif certes , mais on s'applique quand même !
Le but étant d'utiliser la figurine d'un sorcier tenant dans ses mains une sphére ..enfin moi j'imagine que c'est un sorcier !
Pour donner un peu de vie a tout ça j'ai décidé de faire une sphère lumineuse , et donc de traiter un OSL " Object Source Lightning" en peinture ..toujours de l’acrylique .
Mais que serait une figurine sans un petit décors, même minimaliste ! J'ai donc commencé par faire une petit paysage aride de ruines antiques , où viendra se placer le sorcier .

 Small Recreative course, but let's do my utmost anyway
The goal is to use the figure of a wizard holding in his hands a sphere ...well I guess it's a sorcerer!
 To give a bit of life to the whole I decided to make a glowing sphere, and thus treat OSL "Object Source Lightning" painting .. still acrylic.
 But obviously a small scenery (even minimalist) is necessary to enhance ! So I started doing a small barren landscape of ancient ruins , on which I will set the sorcerer (wizard) .

Lundi mise en place des éléments sur le socle préalablement percé de multiples trous permettant une bonne accroche de la pâte de sculpture faisant office de sol.

 Monday installation of the components on the base , previously drilled  with some holes for a better grip of the polymere clay  acting as a ground.

 Mardi , c'est sec , on passe à la sous couche et au pré-ombrage!

Tuesday , it's dry :  under layer and pre-shading!

 

Mercredi mise en couleurs , enfin premier jet , ce n'est pas fini ! mais ça donne déjà une idée de l'ambiance ! 

 Wednesday setting of the colors, and finally the first draft, it's not finished yet! but it already gives an idea of ​​the atmosphere!

Prochaine étape , la figurine , le sorcier à la boule et pas maboule ...et finition du décors !

Next step , the figure : the sorcerer, the wizard , as you want ! but with a lighting ball !!

La Sentinelle , finale !

Pour cette fois pas de littérature, juste les images !  il y a juste des pêtits détails en plus et la touche finale !

le bouton de bois , c'est chouette !

Et voila , j'ai profité d'un soir d'été  ...d'hiver  ;-) pour continuer de peindre les boutons de bois , dont la fameuse chouette si demandée !
Toujours la même méthode : peinture à l'huile directement sur le bois ...une couche de vernis peut être en finition,  afin de protéger la peinture .

And voila , I enjoyed a summer  evening... winter ;-) to continue to paint the wooden buttons, including the famous owl so requested :-)
Always the same method: oil paint directly on the wood ... a layer of varnish maybe to finish , to protect the paint.
